Response to Commissioners' Visit to Rensselaer Refinery
On Wednesday February 7, Kosciusko County Commissioners Brad Jackson and Ron Truex flew to Rensselaer, Indiana with Times Union reporter Teresa Smith.  Ms. Smith's article about the trip can be read here.  The Commissioners were met in Rensselaer by a group of Kosciusko county residents who had driven to the site with Mail Journal reporter Tim Ashley.  Mr. Ashley's full-page coverage appeared in the Feb. 14 edition of the Mail Journal (no online edition).  The NLACCA submitted an article to both newspapers in response to the reporting, addressing the many ways in which Milford differs from Rensselaer, making Milford a much less desirable location for a fuel refinery.  Neither paper printed the article, so we were forced to buy space in order to get it published.  Our article appeared in the Feb. 23 edition of the Times Union, and in the Feb. 28 edition of the the Mail Journal.  You can also download and read it here.
